Can Icing Help Prevent Tendonitis?

I understand that icing helps recovery from tendonitis, but has anyone ever used it to help prevent tendonitis? Can icing immediately after running help prevent tendonitis from occurring in the knees, ankles, etc.? If this is a repeat question please link me to the proper thread, I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks for the responses.

Nothing can prevent tendonitis except propper training.

If you want to reply "But I do train properly and I am getting tendonitis" then you are in fact not training propperly.

Tendonitis also stems from overuse. Make sure you are warming up and cool down stretching. I like icing, but I don't feel that there would be any benefit to icing after running unless you are in pain. Do your knees and ankles consistently hurt after you run or should I say are they hurting on a regular basis after you run?
