burpee variations
Yes burpees are awesome but let's face it, every once in a while it feels stale and you want to mix it up.
When that happens, what sort of variations do you guys like to do?
I know there's the one with dive-bomber pushups instead of regular ones, and the one where during your jump you latch onto a bar and execute a pullup.
Lately I've been playing around with making the pushup a clapping pushup, and another variation where I execute two pushups in a row, then two lunges (one each leg) instead of the jump squat. I've been considering trying a variation with a medicine ball throwdown (without actually letting go of the ball) after the jump squat. Or lateral lunges.
There must be endless variations possible.
What do you guys like to do when you want to mix it up a little?

medicine ball slam, drop and do the pushup, when you jump back into the squat, pick up the ball and do a wall ball, catch it, then slam and repeat. this keeps a slower pace than normal but still sucks
or instead of doing the wall ball, just jump up holding onto the ball above your head, then land and slam it.
depending on your ball, you can also do the pushups on the ball

yeah i was thinking of holding onto the ball during the jump and throwdown, just to keep pace.

You can always add in a left, right, knee combination. Mix it up a little

or if you're near a heavybag do a 1-2 instead of or in addition to the jump.

I love burpees to box jumps on a 2ft box. Or use a barbell, go down and do a pushup, deadlift the bar and jump into a clean and then press. Use whatever weight you're comfortable with. Burpees to 180 degree turns. Grab a pair of db's for resistance and do a pushup, row both db's, and jump with db's in hand. Adding resistance makes them tougher, great for conditioning. These are a few of my favorites. Have fun!

I like adding a backflip into my burpees instead of a normal tuck jump.
