Benifits of rowing for MMA training

Was just cuirous to hear some opinions on the benifits of rowing.

My logic tells me it should be a good cardio work out that benifits MMA because:

a.) the motion is condensing and exploding on a lesser scale... a key to ground game
b.) you are using many muscle groups unlike say, riding the bike
c.) from experiance i seem to get a better work out then a few other cardio machines

I know running is ideal, especialy HIIT running, but just looking to mix things up

thoughts? cause to be quite honest my logic and reality arnt always the same thing. haha.

it's a great addition man, don't worry your not crazy.

Rowing is extremly good at burning calories and improving your cardio, its also a great strength builder for the legs.

Yeah,

Id say the thing that got my attention due to me not thinking about it prior is how it also helps with wrist/forearm strength.

I'm lucky, the building I live in has a rather shit gym, but they have a top level rowing machine for some strange reason... i looked online the thing is worth like 4 grand. Wierd but I am not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Rowing kicks ass. Great leg workout. Works back, shoulders, triceps. Plus if you dow row sprints it gives you a great cardio workout.

haha thanks, i had actual rowing in my head as there are alot of national level rowers at my school, and rowing like that does build strength in the legs. the rowing machine doesn't really have enough resistance though.
