I've never seen the vids and don't know what exercise you're talking about, but if it's a neck exercise I assume it's used to strengthen your neck. I strong, thick, flexible neck is important if you fight or train in combat sports.

Thanks for replying. Here's a link to a sample of the workout the neck exercise is at about the 42 second mark. I didn't know a strong neck was important for fighting...cool.

Insn't this obvious?
If you don't know why a strong neck is important, you need to trian more, but rather than being a complete dick, I'll say that it's important for injury prevention, fighting off chokes, using your head to manipulate your opponent, and hopefully makes you a bit harder to KO.
