Ankle Weights. yay or nay.

I dont mean as a end all miracle exercise. But if you wore ankle weights and just did every day shit like go to work, or school and just wore ankle weights around. Do you think theyd increase leg strength at least incrementally? Because i have chicken legs and it seems like a good way to just work my legs, since i walk a bunch at work anyway. So whats teh word?

i also know they can fuck up your ankles if you run or try and exercise with them. But i dont know if they even work, or if they just give you the impression that you're faster and lighter, but really its just because you had weights on your feet for the past 5 hours.

nay. everyone I know who's trained extensively with ankle weights has knee problems. If you have chicken legs, come to S&P and we'll teach you to lift proper.

Someone should make a sticky that just says ankle weights are the fucking devil. A good friend of mine is running with them now and wont listen to me. I fucking cringe.

yeah, i hear nothing but bad things about these contraptions. Now i understand how it'd hurt you if you ran with them, but now i hear they harm you whilst walking?? pure evil.

The only purpose I can imagine would be small additional weight to like pullups, maybe scissor kicks. But running or whatever? Its a stroke of luck for me to not be riding the injury list from just regular running lol.

i had a buddy of mine when we were younger that wore the ankle weights alot, not to run in, just everyday stuff. He was the fastest kid around, could be just coincidence though
