Back Cracking....Is it safe?

Did about 1 hour 30 mins of muay thai sparring yesterday and during the last few rounds my back became quite stiff.

It got worse through the day and one of my friends cracked my back for me which made it feel better until I woke up this morning and it was really stiff again.

Was just wondering if it`s safe to have my back cracked continually to relieve back stiffness or should I just leave it as it as and let it heal with time?

Like what has been said already, go see a Chiro- probably not the best idea to have your friends adjusting your spine for you. I used to be guilty of it too though.

definately chiro...although a lot of the time the spine is being held out of place by muscles so deep tissue massage is a good thing to help relieve the tension. ive also used acupuncture which is a great release for muscle tension and allows the spine to open up and breathe more easily.
I recently went to a bowen class...its real expensive here in the UK but it is amazing! stimulates electric impulses in your muscles to draw blood to them and so loosen them up...all helps the back!

theres no real problem right, just a stiff back?

take a few days r&r then maybe do some yoga

don't think any joints are designed to crack continually so I'd say no, dont do that
