Arms Feeling Weak

Ok, so for about a year my life got very busy with getting engaged and having a son, and now I feel like it's time to get back into working out and conditioning again. I just really started a semi-daily workout today, but even before then I would go in spurts of a week or two when I would work out and then stop for whatever reason. I noticed in those times that I would be working out my arms how I used to and they would only be slightly sore and I never felt as if they were getting any stronger. I figured maybe that it was the fact that I have gained about 20 pounds in this entire year and my arms aren't used to that extra twenty. (I've weighed 135 since I was in fifth grade and I only just recently put on those 20 pounds since this past year when my life got busy). My guess is that since my arms aren't used to it and I haven't really gotten a solid few weeks worth of working out into them, they just aren't building up to the weight I have now. I figured since I don't feel the exact same in my legs (I do feel a bit more burn now when I go up stairs or something of the sort) it was simply because I don't use my arms on a daily basis like I do my legs.

Question is, is this something to worry about or is it something that'll ween away with some solid working out?

you might want to describe your workout. i have a feeling it will involve a lot of curls and extensions.

In all honesty though, the "workouts" I was doing before when I really didn't have time were 2 to 3 sets of push-ups, 2-3 sets of ab work, and 2-3 sets of squats. Now I'm doing a lot more and I just started a new routine today because I have about an hour each night so I'm hoping that will fix it, but I just wanted to see what you guys said. My other little "workout" was as quick as I could get those sets out.

It takes time, i'm sure those 20lbs won't affect BW squats but try going for a long run and see how long your legs last, or try the 100 rep challenge and see what's weaker your arms, legs or lungs.

If your arms feel like try some chins, nothing says strong arms like being able to launch your body into the air.
