Ankle injury...cardio out of the question?

Howdy all, newbie here. I sprained my right ankle back in december and due to my stupidity, it's not healing simply because i dont let it, im always doing something active. Just wondering if there is any cardio i can do to stay in shape while i let it heal properly. I was thinking burpees, they dont hurt as long as i have a brace on and nix the jump at the end, but was wondering if any of you guys do cardio that is easy on the ankles. Thanks in advance everyone.

Hey, I sprained my ankle in January. I did various cardio machines, but I mostly did the elliptical. I took a week off though and iced it, as well as did the exercises my doctor gave me.

Any injury needs time to heal. If you've sprained your ankjle, you need to take some time off any kind of impactful exercise. Jogging, step aerobics, bag work will all keep you from healing properly. The best thing to do is to take some time off and let the joint begin to recover. Then begin to ease yourself back into your regular exercise program. Start with a little light work on a stationary bike, rowing machine, or roll with a (good) partner who knows of your injury and can be mindful of it. Injuries need time to heal.
