Advice on cutting weight?

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum to post this but I have my first bjj tournament coming up soon and I need to lose about 7 pounds in 10 days.

Is this possible and if so whats the best way to go about doing this? I should probably mention that its same day weighins, and that i have easy access to a sauna.

Thanks for any help!

use the sauna. jumprope in the sauna, cut out carbs and lessen water intake if it comes to the wire. just eat less, run more. simple as that. DONT eat before you go to bed

7 Pounds in 10 days, thats cake. Your body has the capability of dropping even more than that in one day. I don't recommend that but what I do recommend is developing a goal for each day where you would like to see your weight at. Start out by eating a little less and supplementing more with Protein. Then around 3 days out start cutting back on your water intake. Then on the day of weighins try to weighin early so that you can re-hydrate with something along the lines of Pedialite or gatorade.

Good luck to ya,

If you dehydrate your body more than 5lbs you probably won't be optimal for the tournament. So try to burn as much fat this week without dehy.

Be first in line in the morning for the weigh-in. Then rehydrate immediately with 250ml every 15min.

There are good weight cutting threads in the Condiotioning and and Diet and Supps FAQ that should help you with pre-cutting dieting and techniques.

Just a vegetables and rice diet dropped me 10 pounds in a week easy.

eat half of what you eat (no carbs)

no liquids for 24hours

exercise like hell such as... running with 3 sweaters and 3 pairs of sweats and a few t shirts inside. also, jump roping in the sauna is good, try doing sit ups too, urijah faber does it.

and that should get your 7lbs off easily or maybe even more.
