Abs Abs ABs

I always wandered what makes your abs poke out?? Personally i have hard abs and you can see the 6 pack an all but they seem to pop out makin me almost look fat in my clothes?...i never really do heavy low rep weight ab exercises..i mainly stick to high rep every other day exercises....Just curious???..

Google stomach vacuums (there's also a recent thread on them in S&P, complete with obligatory flaming). You tense up your rectus abdominus or whatever and it tightens up your midsection. A lot of people think they're cosmetic and of no practical benefit, but in my opinion a slimmer midsection can help with flexibility and perhaps strength.
