About to join Chute Boxe LA but first...

I dont know how many of u guys have heard or have actually joined but chute boxe is in los angeles now. I plan on joining in a month rather than now because of financial reasons. My thing is that I am very over weight 6'1 309lbs. I did the college and high school football and track thing. But after school i stopped working out. I have been workin out for the past 4 months pretty good. like 3-4 times a week. Although im 15 lbs lighter than when i started i am still a lil uncoordinated and slow. Im not trying to make it to the ufc or anything, it would be fun to fight but mainly i want to join chute boxe to get into better shape and just to do something fun. i thought about increasing my cardio intensity to keep up with these guys. But my question is if u guys think i should slim down first, get my coordination better, then join so i wont get beat up everyday? lol Thanks guys

No offense, but if you are already working out 3-4 times a week for FOUR MONTHS and are still 309 pounds, your problem is obvious --- you are eating way, way, way too much. More exercise isn't going to be your solution, a healthy diet is.

Yes i just changed my diet. When i signed up for personal training at 24 hr fitness i got a personal training wo really didnt know anything. This was something he told me and I qoute "you can eat oreos all day but as long as they r under your daily calorie limit, u will lose weight."
i dont know how accurate that is but i just ditched him and have been eating alot better but i just figured that out tho.

BY the way i didnt eat oreos all day
lol

Something with the diet that helps, is to balance the carbs and proteins. In addition, eating protein with the carbs does something to the insulin level that keeps the carbs from just packing onto the body. Can't remember what, but it was explained to me by an expert. In addition to the balancing, avoid late night carbs.

Far as when to join the gym, it's really a preference thing, I think. But if your goal is to get in better shape, then try joining now. When sparring, I doubt most gyms will work with a beginner and not pound him into the ground.

as for diet, calorie deficit is just one facet of the equation. If your training you need to balance out your macronutrient(carbs, fat, protein) ratio to get the most out of your training.

So that whole "it doesn't matter what you eat, just stay under the calories" belief, will help you lose *weight*, but losing weight is a relative term, unless your cutting water for a competition. I'm thinking your trying to lose fat, and not muscle/water, so balance out ur macronutrient ratios and start off with a slight caloric deficit, theres alot more to know about this, but it should be enough to get ur diet on track.

Probably right disregarding insuline levels. However lack of nutricion = loss of strength and endurance

At 300+ lbs, moblilty would be a real issue and you'll take a lot of shots. I'd say definatley slim down before going to Chute Boxe.
