Is an ab wheel a good replacement for situps/crunches

I feel that I get nothing from situps or crunches. Do you think an ab wheel will be any better?

When you use the ab wheel, your using your abdominals to stabilize your torso, which will assist you in pretty much anything. Whereas when you do crunches and situps, you're doing a pretty useless motion. I do them to help improve my squat.

It's also much easier to add resistance when you progress. Simply roll out further.

it's like asking if a chevy silverado is a good replacement for a mule driven cart.

Thanks for the input guys. Do you other lightweights out there burn through situps and crunches like nothing? Just wondering if it's common.
