4 weeks until Gracie Worlds

Is there still time for me to get my explosiveness and stamina up for this tournament? (IE, running sprints one day and the next day do long distance running)?

As I've said before..each fight could take as long as 30 minutes..so Im guessing theres gonna be about 10 guys in my weight class...and prolly A LOT in the Absolute..

Is there still time for me to get my stamina going?

Start doing some Tabata training. For example:

20 second sprint (fast as you can) on a stationary bike
10 seconds rest

Do this for 8 rounds about 3 times a week. You will be amazed at the results...no joke.

You can do the same thing with sprints. Find a good open field and run as fast as you can for 20 seconds. Stop and rest for 10.....8 rounds.

Or, Do some crossfit bodyweight routines like this:

5 pull ups
10 push ups
15 bodyweight squats

as many rounds as you can in 20 min. You might be surprised at the number you put up....it's a tough workout.

I do a lot of my workouts outside in the heat. I usually start when I get home from work which is normally around 6:30 so it's still in the upper 90's around here.

It's somewhat uncomfortable but my workouts rarely exceed 20 min. So I just suck it up and go with it.

Ahhh i see...one more question: So is it a good idea to run those sprints one day and then do long distance the next?

That's up to you. I never do any long distant running or stationary bike. I only do short 20 rides at a med rate or the high intesity short ones.
