Running 7 MPH would = 8.5 minutes per mile. So just under 26 minutes seems a pretty basic goal to maintain for 3 miles. You would want to go faster if just doing 1 mile of course

3 miles is 4.8 kilometres, and 5k is a staple race distance. Most dedicated runners would be unhappy with a 5k time of over 20 minutes.

I got 20 something as my best when I was in cross country for one season. Long distance is not only just being in shape, but staying mentally tough. As a sprinter, you have no time to think when you are running because the race is over in 20 seconds, not 20 minutes. When I joined cross country I was surprised that I was actually thinking during races.

After some practice you'll be able to fall into a zone that pushes you hard but feels uncomfortable to slow down. It's odd... You'll feel like a machine.

A man that runs an 18minute 3-mile is a super-stud when it comes to running. At least in my opinion. A 20-24 minute 3 mile is good enough for me.

My best ever time for 2.5 miles was 14 min 14 seconds a few years ago (and got a 500 after that down to 1 min 23)

Its resting around 16-17 minutes now I've started running again.
So....extra 500 m, in this shape.....thats like 19 min for 3 miles
