Would this be effective in making abs tougher?

Could potentially work. Would it toughen up the abs as I could get my girlfriend to help me with that.

I think I saw a "Shaolin Monk" training video where they did something like this. of course they also featured the "groin hardening" segment so i'm not sure that's the best idea
