Tweak my routine.

Allright here's the deal, I've been doing to strong lifts 5x5 for a few months and I think squatting 3 times a week is a little much. I usually lift mon/wed/fri so I'll be dropping the squats on wednesday. What excercise(s) should I replace it with?

workout A
squat
Bench
BOR's
Weighted Dips

workout B
Squat
Overhead Press
Dead lift
pullups

Try WSFSB. I'm doing that program now and I like it a lot. It might give your body a break since there is only one lower body day. I also think the program is easy to custom fit to your needs.

Or you could just switch to 3 sets of 5 like in starting strength.

I think I'll stick with my current routine, its been paying dividends so I see no reason to switch things up besides the squatting less right now. Maybe I'll switch to something like this after I've achieved my preliminary goals, or I majorly stall out.

If you drop the squats I think Wednesday would be a good day to work on something that you think is a weakness.

So if you think your abs could use work do abs. If you think hamstrings need work do that, or lower back, etc.

That way even though you are not squatting you can do something that will help your squat.

How about adding in a squat variation?
