Tonight is the first official Space Heater Workout

I am training tonight in my home garage gym and I am certain that it will be the first workout of the fall season in which I will turn on the space heater. Why am I wasting your time telling you this? I have no earthly idea, but I have always enjoyed training when the weather is a bit cooler outside. My neighbor shot a deer with his bow and arrow this weekend and gave us a shoulder slab of venison. I will get home around 6:30, the coffee pot will have a fresh batch of Guatamala Antigua, my oldest daughter will have the space heater turned on at about 6pm so the garage is nice and warm. Workout comemences at 6:45 and goes for maybe an hour, hour ten, something like that. Lots of rowing and pulling tonight, starting with Overhead Squats and ending with Power Shrugs--maybe even throw in a few Cajin Rows at the end. Hit the door at about 7:50 where my senses are overwhelmed by the aroma of venison chilli and hot cornbread. Sit down to eat at 8 and then spend a lovely evening with my family.

Life is good.

I'm rather happy to have an indoor gym this winter, since I joined a powerlifting gym. Training in thw winter in my garage was kinda brutal.

This is what I hate about our new weightroom. No gasheater burning on one side of the room with amazing noise anymore.

That makes my night sound about as fun as prison rape...

Have to write a paper and study for an exam, but on a lighter note... I got accepted into my major. I'm starting to see a little daylight in terms of how far through school I am at the moment. Should only have a semester and a half left, maybe two... Trying to cherish these years though, because after college I guess I'm going to have to try to start a career or something.

Why cant we just be able to lift and eat steaks all day?

For what it is worth,

I have had three time-frames in my life where all I had to do was eat, sleep and train, Each time frame was 3-6 months in length. I had plenty of funding and great facilities and each and every time, my gains were moderate at best-I was also not very happy during this time even though it sounds like every lifters dream come true. I have always made better progress when I was very busy as opposed to not being busy--I think when you have little to do, you get sort of lazy--both mentally and physically.

Keith,

How do you manage Overhead movements in your garage? Looking at mine yesterday, I don't think the roof is tall enough. I guess I could always walk out into the driveway...

I've found the same to be true.
On my weekends when I've got absolutely nothing to do, I actually get a little foggy and depressed by Monday. But after busy weekends (not hectic, just busy), I'm invigorated and positive. Funny how that works.
