hahahah yeh, that's the other thing I liked. I wanted to stop watching but couldn't. I can't believe a guy like this trains athletes. He sounds/looks retarded.

Honestly, where does this guy live, is he in Aus? I could kill him "bald headed monkeys that are powerlifters"? wat.

My vert has only gotten bigger since squatting.... I was gonna keep ranting, but I guess it'd be like preaching to the choir.

All the muscle that heavy squats build might hurt your leap

Ridiculous!
Tell that to those guys making videos of themselves jumping out of pools. I'm not even gonna read that shit.

sounds silly but he might be addressing the "pro-athelete" audience which already has the fundamental strength down pat. low-hanging fruits. once you already squat 500 and cleans/snatch/jerky huge amounts, might be better to focus on your plyo to improve explosion. I know troy polamalu does not train with anything higher than 25 lbs for explosion development anymore. i'm sure he still lifts heavy to maintain strength and avoid injury.

but starting out. i am exhibit a for how heavy lifting builds explosion. just started 5x5 a couple months back. i was running yesterday and some thug on a moped snatched my ipod. i ran after his ass. he didnt expect me/people to run after him and wasn't going that fast. until he looked back. at one point, i was pretty much side-by-side with him when he had to slow down for speed bump. i gassed but was damn impressed; never knew I had that kind of speed. had i grabbed him, i would've been able to see what else 5x5 had helped me with.

It's funny when you see a video like the one that you posted where a "strength coach" comes up with all kinds of silly exercises and workout "methods" and claims that they work because he trains elite athletes. Those athletes were elite before they started doing all of that silly shit. Does Troy Polamalu really know what he's talking about in the video or is he just making shit up? Or saying something rehearsed?

I find it ironic that he got a Jordan t-shirt, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Michael Jordan was doing squats.

Also, it's unbearable how many times he manages to say "okay?" in such a small amount of time.
