Sleep Problems

I've gotten into a weird routine with my sleep lately, and I think it could affect my gains, so I would like some input on what I'm sort of stuck in.

I work out 3 days a week, weightlifting at 7:30 until cross country starts at 9, and on the days I work out I have to wake up kind of early, around 6 or so. On the days I don't I'm so beat from working out the day before that I sleep until late in the day, not by my own choice, just because I don't wake up. Those days it's hard for me to fall asleep at a reasonable time to get enough sleep to workout the next day.

So pretty much I get next to no sleep the night before I work out, and overcompensate the days I don't. What are some useful ways to help with this.

This may affect it, but I'm 16, so according to those "government charts" I need alot of sleep.

Welcome to my hell.

Try to get on a regular schedule, i.e. wake up on the same time, even on days when you don't have to. Also, blue light screws you up, so no watching TV or using the computer a few hours before bed. Yeah, right. Good luck.

my sleeping rythm is so messed up, i usually sleep at 5~9am and wake up like 14:00~15:00

and theres always construction workers busy in my street they start at like 8am, so i kinda wake up from time to time each night.

Ive tried to change my rhythm to normal times, but going out(clubs) once or twice a week messes it all up again.

If you can't sleep now wait till you start working full time.....16 those are prime sleeping years....Honestly if you are having that hard of a time you can always try gravol, it seems to get me pretty sleepy. OR just go to your doctor, ask him if there is any herbal meds or food you can eat that will help you sleep.

When I read the original thread starting post I was thinking everything mentioned above by old man.

Another to add, maybe try some cardio excersise the arvo (after school or work) before you go to bed. It'll tire you out and make you actually want to sleep more.

Best thing you can do is make a routine, your body will become conditioned to it.

Have you ever heard about overtaining? Unless you are a professional athlete, you shouldn't train so much. Especially several hours straight.
