SL-DL Pain

Alright, it is the day after doing some Stiff Legged DLs and I am in severe pain. It hurts to turn my head (but only to the right) or look up and down. I have had this happen in the past, the last time I was unable to look to my right (which made driving a bitch), and stopped doing them until the pain went away. I have stopped and restarted them three times in total now, and everytime the pain starts at a lower weight.
Now, I know for sure that it is the SL-DLs that are doing this to me, and in the past I have seen a doctor and gone to physio (both were freakin useless). Interestingly enough, no such pain occurs when I do Good Mornings. This last time I changed my form up as suggested by a recent article here to have a neutral posture instead of an arch, but it doesn't seem to help.
I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this? And if so, could they offer any suggestions? Right now I am just going to cut them out completely and replace them with GMs, as I just can't deal with shooting pain and loss of mobility.

PS- if this sounds not to well written, I only got 3 hours of sleep last night. Sorry.

It sounds like you pulled a neck muscle. Did you turn your head while deadlifting?

Are you turning neck or unnecessarily squeezing your neck muscles during the lift? I am guessing part of the reason it doesnt happen during GMs is because you're using a significantly lighter weight....

could be that you're pinching a nerve in your neck....

That happened to me when I first did OHP - you're simply squeezing your neck muscles too hard. You want to look up somewhat when doing SLDL's just to keep your form tight, but you're not trying to touch the back of your head to your ass so there's no reason to overly strain. Just keep it tight enough to keep your form.

I am almost always very careful about this, but come to think of it I may have. I don't remember if I did for the other times. I think I am going to lay off them this coming week, and give them a shot one more time, making sure to keep my neck relaxed, head straight, ect.
