A lot of fighters and athletes in general avoid having sex before competition because they believe that it's detrimental to performance. I was doing a little research and came across this article..
How Sex Effects Performance | Fight Passport
It's related specifically to MMA and it profiles the popular beliefs and apparently they're mostly myths. Says it's more psychological than anything.
There’s also a couple cool vids from a show called “sport science” on there where they test the punching power of a heavyweight boxer both before and after having sex.
Where do you guys stand on the issue? I've never had sex before a fight or anything because well, I haven't had any fights yet. But in general, I find that it doesn't really effect my workout intensity that much.
Thoughts? |
