Clicking the CoC handles together...

Just got my #1 the other day. I'm finding that I can close it fairly easily, except for the final 2-3 millimeters. For some reason, perhaps because of my hand structure, I just can't seem to get the handles to touch. Even when I close it all the way with my other hand, I automatically open up to about 2-3 mm, after which my grip strength feels fine.

Since I'm still a CoC novice, is this a matter of grip strength -- i.e. will I be able to close the handles eventually with enough training -- or are there people out there who simply cannot close that last millimeter or so?

I can't close it that far either, I think you're supposed to be able to close it fully though. I guess just work at it? That's what I'm going to do.

The final 1/8-1/16" is the hardest part of the close as you're finding out.

-You can focus on doing lots of negatives and forced closes on a tougher gripper......
-You can hose clamp your gripper to last 1/4" and really focus on closing the gripper....clamping should make it considerably easier to close....
-You can file your current gripper and continue to focus on doing negatives and forced closes...
-Strap holds are also something you can do.....

Might also be the way you're setting it. It should be spaced more in the palm of your hand as opposed to the thumb pad.

Same here too, Urban and Carnal suggested overcrushes, which is closing it as far as you can then recieving assistance from the other hand to fully close it shut and then just holding it for 6-10 seconds

you can do this with ur pinky left off as well

I can't close as well with my left hand. It simply not as strong as my right yet. It also takes longer to recover. You'll be able to close it fully soon don't worry.

I had the same problem for the first couple of weeks. Keep at it and you'll blast through it soon enough like with the sticking point of any lift.
