Required Reading

Christmas is soon approaching and im struggling to think of what i want. Recently ive began reading lots of strength articles online from a variety of sources, which have wetted my appetite for a bit of knowledge. But the problem is, im not sure of which books to purchase. Ive read a bit of Bompa's periodisation book ( not sure which volume ) at a book shop but thats about it. Ive also heard siff and supertraining been talked about but am unsure whats its about and how it applies to me ( training wise and understanding ).

Im wondering if any of you could list a series of 'required' reading, and if possible in order of importance. Thanks

www.bigwords.com

I think this has to be added to this thread. The one-stop resource for buying books.

For example, I was checking out the books on Cocky's list I didn't recognize, and that "Biomechanics of Sports Techniques" by Hay is listed for $120 at Amazon.

Bigwords revealed that there's a used copy (with almost zero wear) from Abebooks for $20.

Bigwords rules all.

Oh, and wow, Cocky, there's a used copy of "The Anatomical and Mechanical Bases of Human Motion" for $2.89. You should nab that.

Hmmm, interesting. Are all these books beginner friendly or do they start talking about advanced theories and methodology? I've only read a couple books and unfortunatly one of them was "Ultimate Bodybuilding" I forget the author. The other one was Kubik's book, "Dinasoar training".

I have absorbed most of my info from talking to people and reading online articles and also frequently browsing forums. I appreciate the list of books and am going to pick up one or two to read. I am thinking of reading something by Bompa since he is talked about so much and in such high regard on these forums.
