Every time I called or dropped off the rent, I would ask her how the search was coming and she would always say, Oh, I really need to get on that, etc, etc. hey no big deal if she was busy. I met another realtor who found me a house that I wanted and I bought it and I went to her office to drop off the last rent check and also to give notice and she got all pissy about why I had not bought a house from her ( it has been 3-4 months) and she refused to give me my security deposit back even though the house was in near perfect condition--she made up some other excuse for not refunding it. It was only 250 or so, but as was said, earlier, it is the principle of the thing. I looked up all of her rental/for sale listings and found properties that were as far away as possible from her office, some were like 75 miles away and I would call and tell them that I liked such and so property and that I was very anxious to do business--I would make appointments with them at odd hours, weekends, early in the am, late a night,,etc, and of course would never show up. I had friends of mine call and do the same thing and I had the 3 agents in the office running ragged, we would call and they would say, "are you sure your going to be there" and we would say yes, and that we would bring a cashiers check, etc, etc. Then I would steal the companies for sale or for rent signs from their properties and in the middle of the night would put them on the lawns of wealthy people in the city.
I called her about two weeks into this campaign and she wearily answered the phone, I said, this is Keith W.......have you had enough?.....she paused and I said, I expect a full refund check in the mail within the next 4 days....and it came like the next day

It would cost PF more than $1000 to defend this class in small claims court. Actually, the cost would probably run over $2500 if they had to go to court. If they really think you will sue, trust me - they will let you out of your contract and give you your money back.
You just need to get the right people to read your letter.

I would think that a company as large as Planet Fitness probably works with a fairly large corporate firm. At this time of year, something like this would probably be handed directly to a summer associate (who they're probably billing out at about $200/hour) who will spend way too many billable hours effing around on Westlaw for similar cases. The summer associate will then either draft a terrible response letter himself, or simply bring a crap-load of notes and case citations to the senior associate/partner who gave him the work. The attorney will then look at this gobbledy****, look at all the real work sitting on his/her desk, realize this whole thing is about $100, and tell PF to just give you your money back so you go away.
Six-minute increments, FTW!
Edit: They censored the end of gobbledyg.o.ok. Interesting.

My gym has switched to a Planet Fitness about a year ago and opened an ATT affiliate recently in there as well. They don't have the "Lunk alert" or pizza night but I do know all the trainers don't know crap.
Shortly after they switched I was in a rut and decided to pay for some personal training. I told the guy my goals and knew something was wrong from the get go. First off he put me on what was basically a body building routine, Leg presses were the primary leg work out and the guy tried to sell me deca on the third day. Needless to say I ended up canceling the training which was right around the time I found S&P and found what I needed to get me out of my rut.
The funniest part is that when I wanted the training I told them I wanted to train to compliment my BJJ and MT training. They had no clue, now that the ATT opened in there every trainer is in TAPOUT and Affliction gear. One trainer even trains people wearing mma gloves.
Fortunately they didn't take out any of the good equipment or free weights and don't bother me when I deadlift so I just ignore the staff.
