back support
how do you support your back when dead lifting? 460 is a great lift. do you also use hand straps?

I pulled 460 today. My biggest DL ever. Used my new chalk and it seemed to help the grip a lot. It was a tough pull, but not murderous.

You deadlift to build the muscles in your back so they support themselves and dont need hand-outs. And as a rule, in these parts, accusin' someone of usin' straps is almost fightin' words.

That's not exactly the point of belts...

460 sumo DL. bodyweight 143. A best for me in weight and form.
I know it appears that I'm stiff-legging it, but please trust me when I say my hips were behind that pull. My hams and glutes swear on it. I just have short legs.
Also benched 225 for the first time. Imbalanced much? Oh well.
I'm on an all-Marine powerlifting team and we're going to our first meet on May 3. Shooting for 480 DL, it shouldn't be too hard by then. Wish me luck
