overcoming groin pain?
Okay, I thought that I would ask here to see if anyone has any insight into what exercises I should be doing or avoiding or any tips on helping me train through this. I have uncomfortable pain on the right groin muscle. The pain is slight but persistent and has been lingering for approximately 1 month. It started affecting my training as it is now too painful to perform heavy squats. I’m also frightened to cause more injury to it. I have sadly had to replace squats with leg press, leg extension and leg curls. I have no pain while performing leg extensions and leg curls, but I do feel significant but bearable pain while leg pressing. Stretching in between sets has helped a lot. Additionally, performing stiff legged deadlifts is helping a bit too for some reason. I don't do deadlifts.
I would rather not see a doctor and was hoping that it would heal on its own or I could do some strengthening/stretching exercises to speed recovery, but I have no clue on what I should be doing.
Unfortunately, I think that I injured it while having sex and not while training I'm not sure which position caused the injury, but when I was done, I was in a lot of pain.

You could have a pulled/torn/strained muscle or even a hernia. I'm not a medical expert but it sounds like a hernia and you should go to the doctor. I remember when I pulled my groin playing baseball...worst injury of my life. Who knows your balls could hurt so bad that your heart hurts.

Wow. You are either in terrible physical condition, or you are doing something amazing in the bedroom.

What happened with your injury? Did you see a doctor and have surgery?

I'm in awesome shape right now, 6'1", 210 ~10% and the strongest I’ve ever been (e.g., benching 225X16). I'm 32, and I find that I'm not that flexible anymore and need to warm-up properly prior to any physical activity. I'm not sure what happened that night, it was a little bit more vigorous than usual, but nothing too crazy. However, I've been sore ever since.
Maybe the actual injury occured while training and it just started hurting that night...I don't know? I was hoping someone might shed some light on what could of happened and what I should be be doing. Again, I don't want to stop training and see a doctor unless it get really bad.

This was back in my mid-teens. Basically I got set on rest for quite some time by the doc. It was so odd because although it hurt on my groin, it felt like it radiated up to my chest. Almost like when you get hit in the balls so bad that it hurts in other areas. Eventually it healed its self, I went back to playing after 2 weeks (2 weeks earlier than the doc wanted but hey, sitting on the couch sucks). It's just like any other muscle. I've pulled my lat (still recovering from that one), my hamstring, and my groin and none of them even compared to how much the groin one hurt.

Make sure that you aren't taking a wide stance with your squats.
I tried doing Power-Squats as recommended on these boards and my groin was strained.
I, personally need to take it in a little bit, and I'm fine.

Actually, I've found that when I take a narrower foot position when leg pressing the pain is reduced. I'm still worried about trying squats again. I think that I'll just wait a few weeks and see how I feel.
Right now, I feel pain when squating using just body weight.

I had a similar thing, and it ended up taking months to heal because I kept fucking with it. I would see a doctor and stop doing anything that causes pain. I was able to continue with deadlifts

Shit, that sounds a lot worse than what I have. My pain is isolated to my groin. There are no visible signs of damage. So the bottom line with your injury was to just rest it and it would go away on its own?
That is the problem with doctors, especially Family doctors, in most cases they know nothing about sport injuries and just prescribe rest.
