No pump? No day-after pain? Am I doing it wrong?
Heyo!
I'm not that experienced with strength training, but I used to go to the gym more or less regularly a few years ago.
What I remember (and what I enjoyed most) was getting the pump feeling during and after a workout, and getting that post-workout muscle pain the day after. Y'know . . . the kind of pain that hurts that is a good feeling; not the feeling of "Oh Crap! I tore something!" but of "I'm something good for my body".
Anyway, I've been trying to get back into training, and I've been doing some basic weight and strength exercises at home. (Benchpress, curls, flys, push-ups, sit-ups on Swiss ball, military press, squats, lifts, etc.) The thing is that, despite the fact that I work out until I'm sweating like mad and incapable to properly continue, I don't seem to be getting the "pump" during my workouts nor am I getting the day-after pain. In fact, the next day, it barely feels like I did a workout at all! I used to have to give myself a day's rest between workouts, but now it feels like I should work out every day since I'm not getting the pump and the pain.
What do you think I'm doing wrong?
I work out out some time between 9:00 and 11:00pm and I usually go to bed around 1:30.
Immediately after my workout, I make myself a protein and creatine smoothy with milk, frozen fruits, yogurt, etc. I have the same type of smoothy the morning after, immediately after my shower. (I don't have a ton of cash for supps, so I just use Six Star products.)
Though I doubt it, is it possible that the supps are preventing me from having the day-after pain? Or is it simply a question of shitty technique and/or not intense enough of a workout?

First of all, be prepared to be flamed because of you use/non-use of the following terms:
- Pump
- Bicep Curls (mentioned before squats)
- Non-mention of Deadlifts
Eating immediately after working out and eating a lot in general will greatly reduce the occurrence of muscle soreness. This is a good thing especially if you're lifting correctly and heavy using compound exercises -- Deadlift, Squat, SOHP, Bench Press, Pull-Ups, Barbell BO Rows, etc.
Read the FAQ and the Training Logs to get an idea of how people on this forum lift. If you lift like that and still don't feel sore, screw you. If you don't lift heavy then you need to lift heavy using the exercises mentioned above.
If you've done that research and are still confused then post your routine. However, be prepared to be flamed if it consists of curls, curls, bench press, more curls, Smith Machine work, BOSU ball stuff, etc.
