new program

I posted this in my log, but since nobody really reads it, I'll post it here for your input. It's been edited from the log version to what I think is best

Pull -
dead 5X5
clean 3X3
BOR 3X8
pullup 3X8

Push -
Bench 5X5
push press 3X3
incline db bench 3X8
db ohp 3X8

Squat -
Squat 5X5
Depth jumps 3X3
Bulgarian split squat 3X8
Romanian deadlift 3X8

every week either squat, bench or dead would be working towards a 1rm rather than the 5x5

due to my recent research into ws4sb, I like the idea of hypertrophy exercises to help me bulk up, so I can use the extra muscle mass to work on max strength and explosiveness when I hit the weight I'm going for (140 right now, walk around goal would be 170, so I can fight at 165).
max strength and explosiveness is being worked into a hypertrophy program, so the mass I put on will still be good, functional mass and not just "beach muscles"

would this kind of program work, or is my logic flawed and I should stick with ws4sb right now?

I think working to a 1RM every week might still be a bit rough on you even if you are switching between the exercises. Other than that I think the set up looks decent.

Looks brutal man, especially your pull day. Go for it, though, if you can handle it.

I don't think you need the incline along with the bench. everything else looks decent

Cleans before deads.

I would do pistols instead of BSS's, personally.

Looks really good.

Personally I would put Cleans before Deadlifts, PushPress before Bench, and Depth jumps before Squats.

too many compound lifts. cut at least one from each workout and do something easier. cleans THEN deadlifts then bor THEN pullups? either deads or cleans or one needs to be super light. same thing with bor and pullups, theyre the same exercise but a different angle. why do you need both? your push day is going to kill your shoulders. stick with incline and either bench or overhead. dont do both bench and overhead. squat day looks ok except for the depth jumps. just can those. you mentioned the 5x5, is that what you started from? if so, why change it? there are plenty of ways and reasons to change the 5x5, but i dont think this way would work to well.

sprinter : modified from the ws4sb template. lots of compiund lifts at higher reps for hypertrophy.

beeby : I like your thinking, and I'd switch bss for pistols if I end up doing it

and why the hate on explosive lifts after the heavy ones? they're meant to be lighter movements... so I can let the load fly as though there wasn't even a load

also, I could always sub decline db bench for the incline, less shoulder stress then and more on teh pecs
