Max-OT routine help

i plateauted on the 5x5 routine so I decided to give the max-ot a try. never really done it, but i've done something similar a year or more ago. i was reading the 4-6 rep thing and it got me really confused. lets say i'm using my bench for example, i'm suppose to lift a weight that's between my 4-6 rep range, and i'm suppose to lift to a positive-failure. so just for example, let's say i do 200 for 6 reps, but can't do 7, so that's the weight i should stick with. but during my work out, i'm suppose to do that 6 or even more sets? even if i can do that weight for 6 reps for the first couple sets, my body just wont have anymore to keep doing that until the 6th set. so am i suppose to drop the reps gradually to 4 or should i drop the weight and keep the reps at 6? i know i made it more confusing probably, but hopefully an experienced lifter can help me out.

Isn't Max-OT only 2 sets of 4-6 reps?

quote from the max-ot website:

# Train only 1 or 2 muscle groups per workout/day.
# Do 4 to 6 reps per set.
# Do 6 to 9 total heavy sets per muscle group.

6-9 sets total per muscle group but I think they spread it out over 3 exercises.

oh ok, you are right sonny. But my question is basically the same. let's say on the first set out of the 3 i can do 6 reps. but on the 3rd set i can only do 5. am i suppose to drop the weight and keep the rep at 6 or just settle for 5 on the same weight?

If you plateaued on the 5x5, what makes the max-Ot routine better? You'll fry your CNS quickly with that routine..

GVT or EDT are better choices

Just stick with 5 reps then because you're still in the 4-6 rep range that max-ot recommends.

I have some knowledge of this program, it's more bbing oriented right? Skip Lacour trains using MAX-OT, I think?
