I have a tendency to work way too close to my max too often, this would be a way to limit myself to a lower weight and work with a slightly higher volume. As it stands my DOH max is just less than 85% of my true max.

I do get your point though and would agree in most cases. This is just something i was thinking of doing, but having my DOH limit within 20% of my 1RM it puts me in a good working range if i did decide to try it.

A great thread and so much here for me to relate to, all the way from Cmart's comment about being "171, fat and unable to pull 400".

Ive been training with weights for 7 years but only started doing deadlift in the last 5 months, as when i first started trainin I had weak abs and developed back problems. Thats one thing I would add you must never stop developing your abs it all helps on the DL.
In the last 5 months I have gone from a start off single rep max of 80 KG up to 152.5 KG (339 LBS) done last week. I do DL once every 10 days and weigh 169 ilbs.So Im a novice in poundages but I want to get better.

I bought CoC level #1 last week so will use that too now and threads like this are inspirational
