Homemade kettle bells (Mastery of Hand strength)

Has anyone (or knows anyone) that made the kettle bells that Brookfield explains how to make in the end of mastery of handstrength? The ones that are out of block weights.

I was looking into buying a couple of kettle bells, but I don't want to spend the money on them, and I don't want to get the plate loading ones so I was thinking of making these.

Anyway- my questions are, how much would a welder generally charge to weld the 2 pieces of steal and handle to the blockweight? I know that every one will probably charge different amounts, but what I'm looking for is what I guess an average price would be so I don't pay too much for it.

Also- these should hold up well enough from doing flips/tosses/etc. with them if I drop them, right? I'm sure it will be but I just want to make sure.

i don't know how much kettle bells are but i would think that a welder would be more if not the same as the bells

A 50lbs kettle bell is like $100+ dollars plus a shitload for shipping. It'll really cost like $200+ dollars to weld a couple small pieces of ****l together?

Not if you know the welder personally. Buy the beer and feed him and the price will probably be very cheap as long as you provide the materials.

I like for snatches, clean and whatnot.

I like for bottoms up stuff and swings

I have yet to find a design that woks well for flips.

didn't know that it was so much for a kettle bell

welders range in price depending on how powerful they are i think a cheap one is like 120ish

I was thinking about making ones like that Urban, or buying the adjustable kettle bell handles, but I know I'm going to drop them a lot when I flip them and with my luck they will break in the first week.

My neighbor is a plumber and knows how to weld. I wonder if he has the shit at home to do it. Only problem is he's a drunk and really flakey and by the time I got him to do it, he'd probably be so drunk that he'd weld his arm to the blockweight..

welders can range up to $100/HOUR. I think you can get a lot done in 1 hour.
