Great References for a Beginner??

Ok, I'm weak as hell, and I want to start a strength program. I did a little research on the stickies, etc. I'm looking for "Must Have" reference materials for a beginner. ie books, websites, etc. I'm looking for exercises to do, as well as assistance in the proper form. I really don't want to hire a personal trainer, if I can avoid it.

First, read and re-read all of the stickies. Second, pick up Starting Strength and Practical Programming for Strength Training by Mark Rippetoe and Lon Kilgore. If you can only buy one, I would go with Starting Strength (save your money and purchase both of them).

In the faq under 'how do I add 50 lbs to my bench/squat/deadlift?' there's a link to Dave Tate's articles on the big three lifts, they're invaluable, go read them.

thanks for the help guys. I read the treatise the other night. I was just looking for more detail on exercises and form. I'll check out the other stuff that's been posted though.
