I know people who have had success with it, but it's probably not something I'd recommend to a beginner. If you haven't done the 5x5 I would suggest starting with it, since it is pretty much proven to build both strength and size. With the GVT it may be a hit or miss depending on your existing strength levels, training experience, and work capacity. Although it may not seem like it, 5x5 is already a decently high volume program, so I would try that before jumping straight into 10x10.

Benching 95lbs for 100 reps won't do much for you...

5x5 for a couple months then switch to GVT?
the point of it all is, are there gains involved when doing GVT, a beginner doing GVT would suceed then..

If you are a beginner, start with rippetoe SS or the 5x5. GVT is for guys who have built up their strength base and work capacity
