Curved spine while squatting

When i squat, my spine seems to naturaly curve inwards. causes some pain/discomfort when on medium to heavy sets.

How do i correct this curve? i have tried trnsing ym abs which threw me off balance quite alot and almost caused an accident.

any suggestions?

Are you sure you're not "good morning'ing" the weight when you come back up? That could cause the back pain, but I don't know about the curve thing, I think mine does that too, no problem.

Make sure your sitting back enough during the squats and avoiding the good mornings, for your abs you more or less want to expand your gut. A weight belt will help train you to do this properly, take a deep breath in and try and take up all the slack in the belt so you feel like your trying to burst the belt, this helps stabilize the spine.

I did that - and a strength coach at my gym told me that my knees were coming together when I was pushing up and causing me to almost do a good morning. Focus on keeping them apart, that should help.

Also, make sure you're sitting back when you go down.

I found doing Over head squats really helped me with my squat form and getting down really nice and low.

have you or do you ever plan to have a lumbar disk herniation?

If it's a serious pain, go to the doctor..

if it's slightly uncomfortable, try and use lighter weight, turn sideways towards the mirror, and watch yourself when you come up.....you may be letting your torso lean forward a bit too much on the upswing.
