I've had 5 of the friggin things. 2 Severe, and the other three were pretty mild. Still enough to make my doctor bar me from contact sports.

I always took at least 2 weeks before training again, but then again I did get very severe PCS and still have some lingering effects. If you still have any light or motion sensitivity, don't train.

Thanks, man. I'm basically dealing with light and motion sensativity right now. Always feel like I want to wear sunglasses. How long did it take for those symptoms to go away after your mild concussions?

Definitely take your time getting back into things. Concussion specialist don't even "grade" concussions anymore right after they happen. Concussions are very individualized injuries and can ony be "graded" once all your symptoms are gone. Check out ImPACT Test for some really good information. I would suggest anyone involved in contact sports to get a "baseline" test. You can do the test online for $15 and if you get a concussion you'll be able to tell for sure when you're healed from it. You only get one brain.

I've had numerous concussions. 2 real bad ones, and a few smaller ones. The worst one was at homecoming in 11th grade, I got the concussion with about 10 minutes left in the half and played every play the rest of the half. I had 2 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a perfect long snap while we were punting. I'm a gangster.

They made me sit out 2 weeks, but that was from football, weight training I don't see why you couldn't go light after 5 days or so.

Do technique training. Focus in on stretching for while. Dont worry about your strenght, it will still be there when you go back...thats why we periodise. Muscle memory will have it there for you. Right now its important not to get reinjured. Your best time will be spent learning new techniques...it might be a good time for one legged squats. If it wasnt your head I would say walking on your hands...figure it out.
