Roundin back during rows

I look down during Dynamic/JS rows as I find ths helps me stay balanced during the excerise. However, because of this I round my back. I've always been under the impression that a rounded back is fine and injuries happen from changing the postiion of your back in the middel of the lift. But today I had 3 people bug me during my set to say that rounding ur back is dangerous and can result in injury.

Is this true?

I can't say for sure that it is dangerous, but, I won't do it because I was with a guy who did the same thing and long story short, 3 years later, he is just now able to lift again.
Seeing that scared the shit out of me.

i think it amplifies the forces on your lower back by extending the back portion of your spine and contracting the front.

Whatever the reason is, it can be more dangerous so get your back straight when you lift, there is no real reason not to. Why have a greater risk of injury when you can avoid it?

My response would have been "It is dangerous to interrupt me during my workout."

I like to have my back nice and tight when I do any kind of back work. I feel safer, and I was always under the impression that a rounded back was never good. In fact I can't think of an exercise where a rounded back is encouraged.
