I was thinking about this during class today (i often dream about CHINS). Obviously it will vary from body to body, but my initial guess was about 70%. Does anyone know?
Sidetracking:- Last night i dreamt i was doing an infinite amount of chins, i felt that my body was weightless, i felt i could do infinite reps, continueing for ever and ever.....unparalleled euphoria....it was immensely glorious. I just thought i'd share that lovely dream with you connoisseurs out there.

You must have a lot of time on your hands.
However, I would say 90-95%. Your entire body is moving about your elbows, therefore leaving your elbow to your hands as the only thing not moving.

I don't know, but I'd say you lift your entire body up, therefore you lift 100% of you your bw. And if I'm wrong, what is there to break the 100%? In a pushup the feet break about 30%, but on chins, I can't see nothing.
I might be wrong, didn't think of it too much, but I'm eagered to hearing the correct answer.

You can be explosive without swinging or kicking your feet. Just make sure you start your CHINS from a dead hang. That's the base movement. If you wanna go all dynamic and kick and swing as an assistance, knock yourself out.
