Yes, albeit for only a few weeks so far. I use the Westside template for powerlifting (modified some) 3x a week, conditioning in some form 2-3x a week (running or PT) and BJJ 3-4x a week. It can be done; get your 8 hours every night and eat enough.

Many others on the forum have been doing all this and MORE for a ALOT longer than myself. Check out the logs, they are often as valuable if not more than the main forum.

I don't know how "successful" I am, very average at both. What I do is

Mon: Am: lift (pull) Pm; BJJ
Tues: AM LSD
Weds am: lift(push_) Pm BJJ
Thurs LSD
Fri am: lift (squat
Sat Am: BJJ or nurse hangover, sometimes active rest like a hike with the dogs or some tennis or something.

you have to listen to your body and dont be afraid to miss days because that's a lot to do.

I did it for about 2 months when I first starting lifting in August. 3x week Starting Strength program with 3 x week BJJ. Recovery became an issue for me. But I'm probably a lot older than you and others around here so you may be able to do it more easily.

like the prior posters said, try it and see. just remember to eat and sleep a lot to recover properly. it can be doen.

sucessful is when your gaining strength... while doing other things.

The best thing I've found for BJJ is some KB exercises. It did wonders for my forearms legs and core, while also jacking my cardio through the roof.

Yeah, because DB and BB work wouldn't have worked...

I use KBs for conditioning sometimes but if you want to get stronger, as the original question implied, lift heavy things.

I forgot to mention that I have noticed a lot of carryover to my BJJ during times when I incorporate the olympic movements into my lifting. power snatches and hang cleans are my personal favorites

Snitz and Corrosion said it best: Check the logs

Check the logs (I recomend SteveQ, TeamDragonFire, MidMoBox, as they have trained both with great consistancy - No offence to anyone I didn't mention). You can learn more than just asking for a testamonial. As you learn from them you can ask more revealing/deeper questions re: training both.

Do what's best for you. None of the three guys I mentioned are doing the exact same thing.

I did a pretty crappy job of training both at the same time for the first 7 months of doing BJJ/MMA training. Hopefully I can do better this winter and get strong and better and BJJ/MMA.

Oh, and just to add: Starting a log yourself will help.

and Steve is being coy. He's strong and good at JJ.
