hey everyone downs curls for fighters now I tend to lean to a wrestling style and I olympic and power lift but I think heavy straight bar curls have to make your grip forarms and well every mucle you use to get out of a arm bar stronger Im open to other oppinions. hell mabee I just like having big guns to flex after I win a fight
People tend to dislike curls. I come from a wrestling background with experience in powerlifting, but I think heavy straight bar curls have to make your grip, forearms, and well every muscle you use to get out of a arm bar, stronger. I'm open to other opinions. Hell, maybe I just like having big guns to flex after I win a fight (I'm a metrosexual n00b)

In one of those fight science type shows it had Rickson Gracie applying an armbar on one of those electronic dummies. He applied 600 pounds of force to the elbow flexor. I dont know what the world record is for an arm curl but I don't think it is that much. Conclusion, you wont be able to curl your way out of an armbar.
