I know there is no subsitute for squats...

...but I don't have a rack at my diposal right now. I'm doing Deadlifts and Power Cleans. Any other suggestions? Front Squats? Full Cleans? What do you guys think would be the most effective replacement?

Step-ups are great... I think a lot of those Bulgarian Olympic lifters completely replaced back squats with step-ups.

Doesn't mean step-ups are better than back squats or vice versa, but it's definitely a good option if you don't have a rack. All you need is a bench or a box to step up onto.

Thanks for the advice guys. Some good ideas. Think I'll start off with some step ups.
