Advice on reverse hypers?

I just started to do them to assist my deads and squats. How often should I do them? What kind of weight and rep range should I do? The bench that you lay down on hurts bruises my pelvic area, am I using it wrong? Thanks for any advise.

I believe most people do them in the 10-15 rep range as an assistance/bw movement. No comment on the pelvic pain - that's hard to say.

Try moving your body up or down on the bench to put less pressure on your pelvis. It never becomes comfortable, though.

I've recently been doing a variation where I keep my knees bent at about a 90 degree angle the whole time. Really kills the glutes. You won't be able to use nearly as much weight.
