Walking arround carrying weight overhead is also a great indirect way to work your core.

A quick googling reveals that some people refer to a DB deadlift as a suitcase deadlift. It's a less common use of the term and I don't think that's what's being refered to here.

So, name your top 3 excersises for abdominal mass and power.
And yes, I know there are other ab training threads but I didn't see one with this same focus.

You want to make your abs bigger? Why?

First, can someone go into detail about full contact twists?

I want more power really, the mass is just an incidental consequence.

Look it up in the stickies. Once you learn it, it's one of the coolest fucking things you can do with weight. People will look at you like "WTF?!"

Hey,
This is my first post out here, but this particular topic intrigued me somewhat:
1) Side press: With the weight in your right hand, position your feet roughly 18 to 24 inches apart. The right foot should be pointed in at approximately a 45-degree angle and the left foot should be slightly in front of the right and turned out to help balance. As you begin to bend to the left side, simultaneously lift the weight until completely outstretched.
2) Saxon Side Bends:With feet spread roughly 18 inches apart and pointed straight ahead, hold dumbbells above your head close together. With as much control as you can muster, bend to one side and repeat to opposite side
3) my personal fave, the Full Contact Twist: Place one end of a barbell in a corner and grasp the other end with your left hand pronated and right hand supinated. Pull the bar up using the torso and hips and square up completely to the wall
I've been kickboxing a couple years, and the above three have tremendous carryover potential in that area, not to mention the fact that they help in the aesthetic sense as well.
Good luck
