8 reps

5 reps is for power and 12 reps for size. But what do you train with 8 reps?

While not completely accurate there are basic "ranges" for strength, hypertrophy and muscle endurance, the 8 rep range would typically fall under hypertrophy according to most.

12+ for endurance (I would say 20+ though)

With 8 reps do you train also maximum strength? I know that 5 or less is beter for maximum strength, but is 8 reps also usefull for maximum strenght.

The real question here is: how can I train the pump?

No 8 reps isn't useful for training maximum strength on a compound or 'big' lift... tho I think you maybe trainign strength if you do 7-8 reps on isolation exercises? Dont know, as don't really do isolation exercises...

All rep ranges can be usefull when working for strength, thats why you cycle rep ranges. I wouldn't say that an 8 rep range is max strength training though but it is a good range to work some secondary or accessory lifts. Core lifts can benefit with that high of a rep range periodically just for a change but if your goal is strength keep your core lifts to low reps
