5X5 Routine & Schedule

Here is the routine:

Work out A:
5X5 Squat
5X5 Bench
5X5 BB Rows

Workout B:
5X5 Squat
5X5 Over Head press
1X5 Dead lifts
3X5 Shrugs (These are in here because I would like to do them)

Starting Point is, I'm leaving my ego be this time, the bar I will add 5lbs each workout to the exercises except the dead lift I will add 10lbs.

I'm 15 year old, 135lbs Hockey player at 5'9", I'll be in-season so I will workout optimally Monday & Thursday. I will eat as much as I possibly can as I want this to be a success and I do not want to get burned out. I have obtained whey protein so I will drink some before and after practice plus also follow this protocol with workouts. I have practice 4X a week for hockey and 1-2 games. I will manage at least 8 hours of sleep each night I routinely get 9.

What are your thoughts on the probability of this working out and do you have any recommendations? Please share your thoughts, help, and time with me, in advance thank you.

I'd put the deadlifts first on day 2, with more volume, then do front squats instead of squats afterwards.

If I do that could I also add 10lbs to squat each week as I do deadlift? 5lbs or 10lbs to front squat each week?

Will do barbarian

I can't start threads, so I'm deciding to just bump and Hijack an old thread.

Can someone recommend me some quality weightlifting shoes? I want some good shoes to do Olympic lifts, squat, and deadlifts in.

I do have Chuck Taylors, but I think having real weightlifting shoes would be nicer to have. And it seems like it would be easier to do ATG squats if the shoe had a bit of a heel in it. Or maybe I'm just inflexible...But I haven't really been able to do perfect ATG squats in Chuck Taylor shoes.

VS Athletics > Main Section

I was thinking of getting these.

Is their much of a difference between these shoes and higher quality ones that sell for $150-$200?

I have the VS Athletics and am very happy with them. I know several others here have them also and are also happy with them.
