Icon4 whats more important in bjj?

what do you think is more important in bjj positioning? or submissions?
i believe positioning is much more important because if you dont have a competitor in a dominant position then the submissions are almost useless. I feel that positionig is more important ehat do u think?

Send a message via AIM to drostj2
position IMVHO.

You're not gonna have too many sub opportunities from bottom-side.

Position first. If you learn this then you can also transfer your BJJ to MMA if you want to.

It's not a matter of importance, but order.

i'd rather win on submission than by dominating in good positions if thats what your asking. but like everyone said, position before submission is usually how it goes

Depends on the situation, but I'd say submissions actually. If you can submit a guy while he's trying to pass, you don't really need to change position, do you? Obviously if you're in bottom side or mounted you're not going to do much, but being dangerous at each step of the way there is a huge advantage.
