its great for self defense, you learn some throws and take downs are great for confrontation one on one, some of the eating habits stay with you as well such as trying to eat cleaner and trying to exercise to stay in shape

Modern freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling is approximately the same as pehlwani, i.e., Indian folk-wrestling, a style which is over a thousand years old, its origins lying prior to the dawn of recorded history. Iranians often say pehlwani was based on Persian wrestling introduced to India, but either way, both occupy the Asian continent.
