The GB belt chart is only meant to set the minimum time between promotions.

i went to a class today. i loved it!
they are very well structured, with a set curriculum (at least the one i went to anyway). very family team oriented.

afaik most of the lcasses are taught by kayron, Ana caudia cordiero, and marcio feitosa.

There is a standard of a week that has also been said as two weeks. But most schools would be COMPLETELY cool with letting you come train longer if needed. If you start getting into months of course it would be different..but a couple to a few weeks is no problem.

The belt system is a MINIMUM....meaning you wont get promoted faster than that. But it doesn't mean your are "owed" your belt at that time. Our instructor holds back on stripes and belts CONSTANTLY...and the higher you go the more he holds back.

I train @ GB Birmingham under Braulio Estima, best academy in the UK, possibly in Europe!
Things work a little differently over here than the US though i think.

Did you enter the NO GI open? My coach is A Machado from GB Cambridge/Lisbon, heard it was a great event.
Things here are a lot different too.
