Fro the feet

Ankle pics, sinlge leg attacks, snap down sprawl

from the bottom

Peterson roll

from the top
leg rides, cradles, 3 quarter nelson

of course most techniques can be adapted by anyone but those are the ones I have seen work well for taller guys due to the leverage as well as the long arms and legs.

sweeps, tall guys can bury takedowns by leaning in on you. You have to tie them up and gt their legs out from them.

I'm tall and lanky. I had a lot of success with fireman's carries/Hi C's

This is the hardest body type for takedowns...I feel your pain. But, much much practice/experimentation has led me to this: Best natural takedowns for this body type-armdrags, snapdowns, bodylock/bearhug (with trip if you can), shuck. For lower body attacks I don't reccomend shooting unless your opponent sucks or is the same height or taller. Set your leg attacks up from the clinch. Example: Underhook to single leg on the same side as underhook works well.

I got caught up for a while trying to "master" my takedowns, doing little guy takedowns on shorter people (ie: shooting) or throws....my advice is not to fight nature. You don't so those little bastards doing snapdowns or uchimatas or whatever when they've got the shoot right there...so fuck it, go with what you got.

Also, I find that being taller means you have a pretty mean sprawl if you work your underhooks and posture...ie: Chuck Liddell, so don't be afraid to bait people to shoot if push comes to shove. But DO get some takedowns so you have a well-rounded game.
