over this past year which has improved/fallen off more, your overall grappling (bjj) or your wrestling.

my bjj has gotten a LOT better, my takedowns have stayed the same, but overall wrestling has gone down.

BJJ: up

Wrestling: down

too much specialization and neglect. Am in the process of fixing that.

Both have fallen off, as they have every year since I turned 30 two decades ago. Getting old is hard on your game

My knowledge of both has increased though, grappling more than wrestling or judo

not that my wrestling was ever that great, but it's been the one to get worse...

although my defensive wrestling has stayed relatively the same

my wrestling on the actual mat has prob stayed the same; but my overall wrestling has dropped off, mainly because i have been doing alot of work from the knees.

my bjj game has gotten alot better, guardwork has improved, im still not good; but im actually offensive w/my guard, used to just use it for def. But now im fairly active and convincingly offensive w/it.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. For the sake of safety in our grappling classes, we start from the knees a lot, so I don't have a lot of time to keep up with my takedowns. I've wrestled since I was 13(I'm 29 now), so my takedowns haven't gotten much worse, but I do notice they're not as crisp as they were. However, I am much more comfortable working off of my back than I was when I started, and my guard has improved dramatically.
