weird, ankle injury question

I got caught in a straight footlock about 2 weeks ago. My leg still hasnt stopped hurting. It's nothing major, but it's nagging. I just want to know what it is. It gets aggrivated when I go running. It feels like a really deep bruise, but I see nothing. The day it happened, my gf rubbed a huge knot out of it.. Its on the very side of my calf, and feels like its almost or on the bone.

Any ideas? any danger?

Hmmm, I'm no Dr. Kevorkian, but I'd say that you're probably fine and just need to not aggravate it. It might take as long as 2 months to completely heal. You should stop running on it, as you said that hurts, and try stationary bike, or stair climb machine(or elyptical), as long as you aren't re-aggravating it. Of course you could have torn a muscle or a tendon, or broken a bone, but if you're a broke ass mo-fo like me, you'll just not go to the doctor unless it starts getting worse. Anyway, good luck with the recuperation process, and hopefully some one else with more knowledge can add something here.

If it's on your calf, you're fine.

Thing to watch out with from a foot lock is if you damage something in your FOOT --- that's what you don't want.

I was gonna make a thread about my ankle injury but thought against it in the end but seen as how someone else made one Im gonna add mine...

I got caught in a heel hook in training but it wasnt applied properly as he didnt have control of my leg and only the foot was caught. Basically he only had hold of my foot and heel hooked it, my ankle popped just as I foot got loose from his grip, luckily he didnt have control of my whole leg as it would have been much worse.

The next day I had a bit of trouble walking on it, nothing to major just maybe a slight limp. However it hurt if I tried to point my toes and it hurt when my ankle was turned inwards like a heel hook motion. There was not very much swelling at all, but the bone on the outside of the foot hurt if you pressed it!

Its been a week now since it happened and I can walk on it fine and I even had a light jog on the treadmill this morning. I can point my toes now without it hurting, the pain from that went after 2days or so. The only thing now is that it still hurts when my ankle is turned in like a heel hook motion. It cant be that serious if Im able to run on it so soon and stuff, I'm just lucky it wasnt my knee that popped!

Anyone had similar experiences? I'm gonna tape my ankle up to do some boxing tomorrow, I need to make sure its supported enough so that I dont roll my ankle!
